You can’t fail to have noticed that the great British summer has arrived in earnest. (And if you haven’t noticed, I hope it’s nice and cosy beneath that rock you must be living under!) But as you all head for the nearest park on your days off, and lounge majestically on garden chairs, it’s worth bearing us florists in mind, as we work to make your wedding flowers the best they can be, under surprisingly tough conditions.
Nowadays, a lot of people seem to have a bad case of the “I can do thats”. Skills which used to be respected as specialised fields of expertise are gradually becoming saturated marketplaces. Photographers, for example, are springing up faster than you can count them – but they’re not real photographers with years of skill behind them, they’re just hobbyists who could afford a nice camera and some business cards. And now, it’s the same with the world of wedding flowers – but it’s not just untrained individuals crashing in, it’s some of the largest names on the high street. (more…)
Alan & Emma were married recently at Belmont Church & then had a wedding reception for their guests at the unique Hoghton Tower – ohhhh…… & don’t you just love that kilt ?
… & how stunning did she look ? ! with the very handsome Adam – the happy couple were married at the fabulous Hoghton Tower just a couple of days before Christmas Day – The Gilded LIly worked with Michelle & her Mum to create a themed look but without being too Christmassy.

Rebecca & Julian were married at All Angels RC Church in Bury & what a beautiful day. The sun shone on this most vibrant weddings & that wasn’t only the flowers !!
All the wedding party were so excited & with 10 (yes 10 !) bridesmaids who wouldn’t be !!.
The girls looked stunning in their white gowns & the flowers reflected the fab colour of the girls shoes.
Rebecca looked amazing in her stunning gown – but check out those hair flowers !!
Trailing ribbons in a riot of colour finished the bouquets – never have I seen such a riot of shades.
I’ll so miss working with Rebecca – her excitement was so infectious.
